Dear brothers and sisters, I had my holidays in the paradise valley Swat with my loved ones and relatives and am back to join Global Hujra from Scotland.As my time passed mostly in hujra ,I kept low profile and was listening to what their views were about the general development and changes

But to day Iwas sorry to hear the dismissal of the elected prime minister of Pakistan
It looks like the forces are out to derail the democratic process and have been trying to topple the PPP government.Certainly the ruling class have its faults but eyes are raised the way the elected Prime Minister was dismissed This time it is obvious the ISI has done a great job in unifying the opposition Nawaz Sharif,Imran Khan ,Judiciary and open support from the army have done their job well
The writing was on the wall First the memogate scandle then Zardari trp to Dhobai hospital on health ground and rumors that he fled the country,the chief justice attack on NRO as illegal and specifically pointing finger on the elected president to face the justice.The fact is there were many involved in the NRO list but specifically the president name was picked up and the elected PM was summoned to oblige and write a letter to the Swiss authorities against the president for rmoney laundering in 90,s
The president appears to have aimmunity under the constitution. One can ask the fair question whether the PM has to obey the constitution or Supreme Court.
A counter attack by PPP followed when Malak Riaz when Malak Riaz confessed that the CJ son Arsalan was paid illegal funds with Chief Justice approval.This resulted in ultimate dismissal of Gilani by the CJ for cotempt of court.
No doubt Judiciary is free but it looks like Judiciry cannot do anything against the wishes of ISI and it is a fact the politicians ,judiciary ,civil bureocracy and even tradesmen cannot do anything against the wishes of the ISI.
The Chief Justice has taken the matter very personel against Zardari who spent 8 years of his precious life in prison on corruption charges .These cgarges were never proved. He may be corrupt and may have stolen the money but the presnt CJ did not act then during his tenure when he was CJ serving under the dictator.WHO WILL COMPENSATE ZARDARI FOR THIS PERIOD OF UNPROVED JAIL SENTENSE.HE WAS THE SCAPGOAT DURING ALL THESE YEARS IN JAIL
The present govt. may have its own faults and may loose the credit of completing their term and may face early election .Good for the country as street violence is on the rise specialy in the Punjab cities and army is waiting like ducks when to move and take over Thank you Dr A Latif

I would say that prior to 2007 Pakistan was stable albeit with an insurgency confined to the north-west, just as Turkey is seen as stable but with a Kurdish insurgency in the south-west.

Then in 2007 two things happened.

1: The whole chief justice saga.

2: A huge explosion of "suicide bombings"

So for the past 5 and a half years, Pakistan has become a nightmare.

We will have to see what happens, however Gilani was I think Pakistan's longest serving prime minister (?) and this PPP administration may miraculously serve its full term in office!
