Default Stability of the federation depends on eqillibrium

Equillibrium means a state of phsical balance. In Pakistan we have so far 4 units but the worst state of imbalance is particularly seen in the foreign services. If one enters a Pakistani bank ,or an office of the airline or a Pakistani counsellate office in any foreign country, unless you speak punjabi ,you consider your self as an outsider First the staff communicate with you in Panjabi,if you regret that you cannot speak punjabi but speak pashtu then they rightfully switch to urdu. Unfortunately many Pashtun migrants of early sixties or seventies came from villages and they find it difficult to communicate in urdu due to gender differences and hardly one finds any Pashtun amongst the officials to help him .
one thinks what factors disturb this equilibrium and the unjust distribution of the resorce
1 Some thought should be given to the disproportionate size of the population of Punjab according to some statistics it is about 60% of the whole country. This gives an easy excuse for the big brother to rule the whole country. One should not forget the fact that only northern punjab is prosperous and the Equillibrium of power tilts to this particular region in the federation. This particular region represents the power base may be army ,job allocation both in foreign services and inside the country. This makes Punjab the centre of criticism .
For the sake of those who have grieviences in the negled part of Southern Panjab, the simple soluton will be to give them their fare share of allocation of resources and let them presrve their identity, history ,language and cultural heritage. They will have more say in their affairs and Punjab will not be targetted with critisism In short let Serakistan and historical Bahawalpur should have more say in the affairs of Panjab which is only possible if they are given their right status of a unit or province. The tilt of power in the eqillibrium towards northen punjab will be decreased

As far Khyber PAKHTUNKHWA IS concerned they are in terrible loss because abig portion of its land is not part of the Pakhtunkhwa but is ruled by the centre. This part of the world is given the name Fata. The only solution to make a balanced eqillibrum in different units of the federation will be to merge this part with the main province of Khyber pakhtunkhwa to be administered by its own people in Peshawar. This will not only bring balance in the power sharing but can find the way how to bring stability to this unfortunate land where these people are dyin daily in drones attacks ,terrorism and counter terrorrism as the Centre is totaly helpless and the land is in total turmoil. For Pashtuns to survive they must organise their own home which seems shattered
This Province also need to help Pashtuns in Southern Pakhtunkhwa(Balochistan).Because they live close to their brothers in Northern Pakhtunkhwa ,they should be given full rights to decide wether they want to live with their brothers in Northern Pakhtunkhwa in unity or would share power with the people of Baluchistan. After all these arrangements are within the federation to bring stability in equillibrium amongst different units
Balochistan is abig unit almost twice the size of Panjab with a tiny population. It has large resources but has been neglected for centuries. In Pakistan their national leaders asking for their rights have been assassinated. The two great martyres are Adul Samad Khan Achakzai and late Bugti Sahib
They will be only satisfied if bulk of their resources are spent with in Balochistan irrespective of their population.Recently PresidentAsif ZARDARI Sahib apologised to them which is an honourable gesture
but to give them some relief of their sorrows the living assassin Musharaf should be brought to justice
Sindh has the oldest civilization of human race and should ot be polluted by outside invaders from India occupying their cities Sindh gave shelter to the outsiders and those who have sought shelter should be gratefull to sindhi hospitality THANKK YOU DR. A. LATF

    1. FATA Pashtuns themselves do not want to be part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa it seems. FATA tribals dislike outsiders of any sorts including Pashtuns from other tribes or regions. Apparently they refused to even accept Baba Ahmed Shah Abdali (rahmatullahi alaih) and his rule.

I read that a few months back Imran Khan's PTI was the most popular party in FATA.

    2. Pashtuns of Junoobi Pakhtunkhwa definitely need to be supported. PMAP are doing a lot of good work there and the ANP has called for the creation of a Junoobi Pakhtunkhwa province.

    3. Khan i Azam, Shaheed Baba Abdus Samad Khan Achakzai (rahmatullahi alaih) was from the administrative borders of Balochistan but was a Pashtun leader. Bugti was a feudal landlord and a Balochi. He was corrupt and a Pakistani politician. The great Khan i Azam is very different and far superior to the likes of Bugti.

    4. If a south Punjab is created, then this will just encourage supporters of other provinces e.g.

    Hazara division
    Junoobi Pakhtunkhwa
Urban Sindh (many Mohajirs are calling for this now)

If these are ever created then they could lead to a call for a Makran province, a Gilgit province, Potowar province etc.

Afghanistan which is smaller than Pakistan has 30-40 provinces, far more than Pakistan's 4.

However provincial reform in rural areas means nothing unless there is an end to feudalism.

It remains to be seen what will happen.

thank you brother for for your helpfull comments .I was putting the units in to equilibrium.Pakistan is a federation and no body will be willing to sacrifice their provincial autonomy and ethnicity and would like to keep whatever rights they achieved after a long struggle in the last 63 years. After all a disproportionately larger Punjab abused the resources and the balance of power was tiltilting heavily in their favour.Unfortunately there is another huge ethnicaly different people who do not call themselves punjabis and have been neglected in the southernn part of punjab. It is their demand to get their identity and preserve their linguistic, historical and cultural heritage .Also to have a province or a unit in a federation there should be some basic criteria to qualify. These are the number of those ethnical similar people which means homogenicity of the majority population of the new unit or province .
Size,it should have enough size and scope for development .In Pakistan seraikestan fullfill all these requirement
Incidently Gilgit Baltistan including attached northern areas also qualified to be a separate unit and the crrent democratic Govt.is credited for that
Your point regarding FATA is interesting. Our aim is unity of our Pashtun brothers so that the shattered pashtuns have a strong voice in any Govt.According to Afzal khan Lala who is the most sincere and clever pashtun politician, and fortunately I gained much from his company in Swat when i am on holidays , the common man in tribal belt is totaly kept in darkness. He was federal minister of tribal areas and northern regions in previous Muhtarama Buttos govt,he said the destiny ofthe people of tribal area is in the hands of Maliks and religeous leaders These Maliks gets subsidy from the central govt ,and the policy of Islamabad is to keep tranquility in that region.Unfortunately there is no political activity in this vast belt and a common man is told that they are free HE WAS DEADLY against the tribal chiefs and WAS the first ever politician who introduced reforms in the tribal areas .They have suffered alot and their destiny lies with their brothers in unity to be handled by Peshawar and not Islamabad. It is a shame that in 21st century my brothers are separated from me and are called tribal .Their sincerity and love for Pashtunwali is famous but are dying daily by drones and religous fanatics. The central govt is totaly failed and let them have their affairs handled by their own people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa .Please refer to my previous posts on Fata
AS far Hazara is concerned they do not qualify to be a separate province because 75% of their population is ethnicaly Pashtuns and they prefer to call themselves Pukhtuns from Pukhtunkhwa rather than hazarwal

Karachi is a city in Sindh province and all major cities in the World are multicultural .If one ethnic community dominates in population that does not mean they have to occupy that city as theirs and name it their own province or unit.Anybody who take this step should be punished. Please see my comments in a forum Taget killing Kind Regards Dr.Latif

Dear Dr Latif Swati Lala, thanks once again for another great and very informative post, especially about Afzal Khan Lala's information. It is refreshing to read the comments of a Pakhtun from Pakhtunkhwa as opposed to young kids on other forums, some whom can't even speak Pashto properly and do not understand Pashtunwali.

    1. FATA Pashtuns when they go to Karachi join the ANP, as they know they are Pashtuns in a non-Pashtun city so will work with other non-FATA Pakhtuns including Yusufzais, Achakzais and others. In Karachi the difference between a Pashtun from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and junoobi Pakhtunkhwa disappear. They have a common threat which is the MQM terrorist organization.

So we see pan-Pashtun unity in Karachi.

    2. Karachi will not be able to become a separate province, let alone a separate state as Sindhis have essentially said they will declare war if it does. Sindhis will be militarily backed by Balochis as the Lyari gang and the Zulfikar Mirza affair shows, Mirza is a Sindhi and the Lyari gangsters were Balochis.

However more importantly for the racist and terrorist MQM, is the Pashtun factor. Hindustanis ("Mohajirs") lost in West Pakistan, when Ayub Khan shifted power to the north, they lost in East Pakistan when Bengalis defeated the Punjabi army and their Bihari supporters. They have essentially lost in South Pakistan as there are 7 million Pashtuns in the city and it can never become Hindustani-dominated as per the fantasies of the MQM. Shahi Syed has been defending Pashtuns in Karachi and even non-Pashtuns such as Sindhis are grateful to the ANP and Pashtuns for being a strong force against Hindustani chauvinism.

Unfortunately due to the discrimination that Bengalis face in Karachi many have bee enticed to join the evil MQM, and others have joined the PML-Sher i Bangla wing (of Nawaz Sharif). I hope that the ANP can have good relations with Bengalis in Karachi as we are culturally and religiously similar (both Pashtuns and Bengalis are mainly Deobandi, and both of us are more honest and straightforward than the Gangetic-Indic culture of Punjabis and Hindustanis, who are from India proper, whereas Bengalis and Pashtuns are on the borders of what is the real Hindustan).

    3. Coming back to FATA, the Malik system was supported by the British in their plan of divide and rule. It seems these greedy traitors are once again working against Pashtuns.

    4. As for Punjab and a South Punjab province, anything that weakens the power of Punjab over the federation is good.

    5. As for Balochistan, the PMAP and ANP should speak to the Balochi nationalists and force them to accept Pashtun areas of Balochistan will never accept being part of an independent Balochistan. So far Atauallah Mengal has agreed that Pashtun areas of Balochistan, should not become part of an independent Balochistan.

Marri, Bugtis, Khan of Kalat and others should be told in very strong and direct terms that no other scenario is acceptable.

A while back on this forum Mandokhail said that the Balochi miltants know very well who the PMAP is, from the context I interpreted that as Mandokhail saying the Balochi militants knew the PMAP were tough and strong and able to deal with the militants. Anyway Kakars, Achakzais, Kasis, Tareens, Mandokhails are all strong Pashtuns and can deal with Balochi militants.

By the way in terms of Balochistan, I am not calling for an independent Balochistan.

I am purely saying if that were to ever happen and Pashtuns had no choice but to leave the federation, Pashtun areas of Balochistan should re-unite with Pakhtunkhwa.

Pashtuns, and Pashtuns alone, and not outsiders (like even myself) must decide whether to stay in the federation. I will respect whatever decision is made. If Pashtuns wish to live in the federation, and work to make it better, I will respect that.
