Bacha Khan,s non violence philosophy and its place in Pashtun society
A brother asked me to comment why Bacha Khan ,s ideology did not succeed in Pahtun,s society.I do not think iit is true.Pashtun society has been traditionaly a violent society and it is on the record that those who are true followers of Bacha Khan will ever adopt violence means in his community.Pashtun society has a noble code Pashtunwali and truly speaking pashtunwali does not clash with non violence in real sence if you do not use violence there will be no excuse for other to abuse you Also if you truly believe in huminity and truly follow our great leader you will feel pleasure in helping other .This is the basic theme of Khudai Khitmatgar.In my openion all big parties in Pakistan are either crumbling or changing their aliances in other organisations .Most of their leaders are opportunist and change sides .The only ideology in KPK which sees its downfall and rise periodicaly is alive and will be their forever .
if one looks at its record it has not changed its principles and thanks God Almighty that the true followera of Bacha Khan will never be bought because their motive is not to gain power but to serve
Another thing historicaly is Pashtuns or Afghans have always made empires but these empires were built when they were united There was very little work done to organise their own home . Bacha Khan appers to be the first REFORMER who started his struggle from common man on village level.He preched nonviolence at the village level.Everywhere in Pashtun society there was violence and badal.Tribes and regions were fighting with eachother,Brothers were killing brothers and even feuds and badals were common amongst the rivals for hundred years.
It is on the record that Punjabi bureocrats and their cronies saw this movement of nonviolence and reformation of Pashtun society as the biggest threat to their rule
and named them as antistate elements ,Pashtuns were sleeping and the religeon was used as a weapon against them.The common Pashtuns were furthe demoralised by Punjabi subservant class Pashtun leaders mostly Mulim league,and marshal laws and tragicaly their was a setback to this ideology and organisation.Just like Gandhi and MLking our great reformer Bacha Khan was kept behind the bars.The other two Reformers were tragicaly assassinated
.But truth is always truth and thanks God Pashtun Nationalism is emerging and Pashtuns are convinced that to survive as a proud nation of the World ,the golden rule of Bacha Khan Philosophy is the only way to adopt
As far as Ghandhi gee and Marton Lutherkings are concerned they also won .Ghandi gee won independence through non cooperation and passive resistance.MLking promised the black community
that blacks will have their vote like White and he predited 40 years ago a black President
Bacha Khan( RA) will never fail as falure means digging our own grave. thank you Latif(Dr)
