ANP leadership faces wrath of own party men

KARACHI: The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to kick out its party workers who participated in the protest against ANP President Shahi Syed at Sohrab Goth, party sources have said.
According to the sources, the party has taken the protest seriously and would punish the participants sternly in order to set a precedent for others.
Mehmood Mehsud, a party man, has already been fired.
On Wednesday night, ANP workers protested against the policies of the party and later went to the Mardan House, Syed’s residence, and chanted slogans against him. The party workers condemned ‘the dictatorship’ in the party and alleged that Syed was trying to destroy the party.
“Shahi Syed is a puppet who wants to be in the government even at the cost of his party and workers,” the protestors had claimed. The protest took place after the Sohrab Goth police arrested ANP worker Zafar Mehsud, and lodged an FIR against him under section 13 D. This ignited protests and people took to the streets, blocking the main Sohrab Goth road. The protestors also included women.
Syed then invited the leaders of the protestors for a meeting and assured them that Mehsud would be released the next day, however, he failed to keep his promise.
The party workers have decided to arrange another protest in Banaras against the party leadership. On the other hand, Syed told Daily Times that his party was a democratic one and did not side by any pressure group or gang.
“If someone commits a crime he should be punished, regardless of who he or she is,” Syed said while adding that the arrested man was not an ANP worker.
“We scrutinise the records of people before their inclusion in to the party,” Syed went on to say.

You should appreciate what he said. He did not say these words, in his hujra or just to his sons in his house. He said all this in a public meeting where media is also present. If they dont say anything, then you say, they cannot say, if they say, then you say, it is not said in Islamabad, why in Karachi. I would like to request you to analyze honestly. He even deviated from his party line also, but what he said, do you think that party central leadership is unaware of it.
As far as the ppp and coalation with pppp is concerned, MQM should feel shame, that they were in coalation with PMLQ, now with pppp. You know, ANP can never come into power alone, then they should never go into any coalation because MQM is there. MQM will be there in any governemnt in future. But it is courage of ANP sindh, that they oppose so openly and boldly MQM even having just 2 seat in a province.
Do you think, if they will leave the government, will it reduce the miseries of Pashtoons. You see same in Afghanistan, if Pashtoons are not in power, then we always cry to be in government, when they are in government then we cry they should leave government.
I just want to be realistic, not just to be biased.
If ANP is wrong we should really criticise, but not just criticism for the sake of criticism.
Hope brother, Baz Khan, you will not mind my words.
