Default Hamid Karzai at Kabul University

Yesterday at Kabul Pol-e Takhnik University on a commencement ceremony for graduated students where President Hamid Karzai was the head speaker and the one to hand over the diplomas; was attacked by a student.

The whole issue was transmitted live on the state television (RTA - Radio Television Afghanistan) but was censored at the last minute. The President was reading up names of the top students and handing out scholarships mostly to India where higher educations were prepared for them.

All the students nominated for the scholarships were from the same region (Parwan and Kapisa) and same schools, when suddenly one Afghan student raised up and started to confront the President and asked why all the scholarships were given to the same provinces and the same group of people? Its obvious that results of these students are assumed and that the majority of students are excluded from these scholarships. The student asked why no one from Kandahar, Ningarhar or Khost was given these scholarships?

In haste the state television cut off the sound and later on interrupted the transmission and started to transmit music videos instead.

This is just one of thousands incidents where the anger boils over from the big majority of Afghan people who are sick and tired by the special treatment given to them.

It's no secret that the Pashtoons are treated like second class citizens in President Hamid Karzai's corrupted government.

The question is how long Afghans can stand with this special treatment? The incident was indeed a big shame for Hamid Karzai.

Actually Zahid saib is suggesting that Pashtuns should be treated in Afghanistan the way they are treated here in Pakistan.

The news has been taken from Hewad.com which is an Afghan website. yaara there needs to be a limit as well. Are you and Mandokhail suggesting that Pakhtuns should keep silent at whatever treatment they get?

i agree with u lala. ur right. its just the fact that i admire hamid karzai immensely and the supposed 'injustice' just made me angry.
but it could be a total coincidence.
im trying to find information about this but i can't find anything about it.

It has nothing to do with hard work. Every one is working for their own benefits except pashtons. When Khuram sahib suspended a small time journalist for using "Daneshgah" instead of national terminology (pohantoon), it was all over the news and Khurram was asked for questioning by the parliment . There were protests against Khurram in Mazar, Herat, London, Kabul and other regions. When Haneef Atmar only talked about opening pashto schools in Kabul, he was labeled a hater, racist and fascist. But, When "Pashton Rights" are kicked here and there in Water & Energy Ministry, Higher Education Ministry or in Foreign Affairs Industry we set quiet in our warm/cold houses and do nothing about it. We forget the entire issue within few days.

Education standards are much higher in Khost, Nangarhar, Herat or Kabul than Takhar and Parwan.

This should be an eye-opener for our friends Khiyaal and Mandokhail.
