the dream post has many weaknesses that i as a pakhtoon don't subscribe to:

    1. it is not an original piece but plagerization of a great masterpiece.

    2. the original masterpiece was delivered by a black leader for the black people in a white domainated society. the freedom meant the rights of equality. it did not talk about revolution or rebellion against the majority or trying to unite with their own brothren in west africa. also, the atrocities committed by the white people against the black people is so huge that the perceived usurpation of rights of pakhtoons dont even come near to that. pakhtoons have never been persecuted by any race. we have always fought back with venom and courage.

    3. being high on emotionalism and low on real value, this plagiarized piece will ensure that pakhtoons remain a frustrated lot by aspiring for "freedom" which is nothing but ruination of our generation and our children.

i, for one, will always align myself with success stories from pakhtoonkhwa. for the beginning i only knew one success story in jahangir khan the world champion squash player. in late 80s, he visited the usa and played against william talbott, the champion of american style of squash. the two games have few similarities. everyone had thought that jahangir will lose by huge margin, but he ended up winning. he also led the pakistan day parade of 1984 and i kept many of his posters with me stealing them from my elder brother. my room had only two posters, the other one was of imran khan.

now that i have started searching for pakhtoon success stories i have found that there are many others pakhtoons and ethnic pakhtoons - imran khan is definitely the greatest ethnic pakhtoon. others include janshair khan, asif khan, yasir hameed, yusuf khan, hashim khan, qazi mohib (well my hubby mentioned these ones). besides, there are many pakhtoons who have served in the highest government ranks, are leading industrialists, are leading media personalities and have even served in the highest ranks of the military. i can give you the names if you want.

because i associate myself with successful people, my children and i are happy people.

if you want to cook stories of persecution in the hope that one day you will have your utopia, then may god have mercy on you. i can assure you that you will remain frustrated and your children will be even more frustrated than yourself, because that is not gonna happen. and if god forbid it happens, it will be a great cost both in terms of lives and our values.

the best thing to do is to take leadership position in your own community for now (pakistan and afghanistan). educate our children and send them to leadership positions. its better to use a wheel that has already been invented for us to take leadership of. why try to reinvent another under uncertainty?

    tassu khor
    farah khan khattak

    da ALLAH pa aman.

Khattak is one of the prominent tribe of Pashtoons. It has created many leaders including the great Khoshal Khan khattak. But behram khan was also a son of this Great Khoshal Kha. Then come to the near history. Khattak tribe gives birth to Quli Khan Khattak, who was then called by britians Khan bahdur Quli Khan, the father of Aslam Khan Khattak, who remained governor, interior minister and also for few months senior minister or even having the charge of prime minister. But the opposite of Quli Khan was Watanni Dam, who was a barbar (Naee) named Watan Badsha commonly called Watani Dam, and then president of khudai khitmatgars and then salar and on different ranks of khudai khitmatgars. He suffered much in freedom movement against britians, Wali Khan in his book Bacha Khan ao khudai khitmatgari also mentioned his services and courage. So I will say the case of pareeshan Khattak, originally named Ghami Jan, a rvolutionary poet but lost in the luxuries of Pkaistani establishment, and on contrary is farid Toofan (although not khattak, but supposed to be because living in the khattak society from long time) suffered much for pashtoon rights. Although now has differences with ANP, but it does not mean that he lost his thoughts. I met him after expulsion from ANP, he is against ANP but his soul still say Bacha Khan zindabad, Wali Khan zindabad, and he is a nationalist.

Why I described this whole story, because of farah Khattak, and I think she is happy living in the luxuries of mughal and playing the role of Behram Khan. I am not against Pkaistan, or any ethnicity, but she never experienced the problems relating with the pashtoon identity in Pakistan. What we should with high ranks in pkaistna, when Pashtoons are not allowed to enter other provinces even after the havocs like in malakand. how we should call it, drone attacks, training capms of terrorists in FATA all the thigns are bearable but if US say Mureedke training capm be closed or be targeted, then why so much reaction. division of resources, what and what not. 100's od issues are there, where pashtoons ahve been devoided of tehir rights as a normal human being. If she says that we should for high ranks, I will repeat Behram Khan was the commander of Mughal army, having had a high rank.

MRs/Miss farah should not mind, but should analyse herself, where does she stands?

Why she treis us to make us happy (she calls it frustrated) to be in dreams of pleasures.

When I was studying in The Aga Khan University Karachi we had a class of critical writing. Our teacher gave us the speech of Martin Luther King to read and then write our own dreams. I took the idea from there and wrote The Dream of a Pukhtoon. But I do not know why the people are not looking at the top of this dream which clearly mention " After Luther King". It is not plagarism in any respect as I have mentioned his name at the top.
