Lyla! how you look to these serious threats at high security zones? What the "SAMAJ DUSHMAN ANASIR" wana prove. By the way, we should not call them Samaj Dushman but Khwas Dushman.

I am so bad, again a joke came to my mind Zahid wror.

Actually, zrha mai dair khafa sho, when I heard about it. Just few days back, I was having tea in Marriott quite late in the night. I was the only woman there. Soach mai koalo, za Marriott om "safe" nadai, os ba chai la charta zama.

But jokes apart, I really feel terrible for the security guards. They have a very strict job to do.

O Allah forgive me!

hi all,

taking some time off from my other assignments, i thought to write a few lines here.

but 1st thing 1st. i hope all of you are doing gr8. salamz to all of you from icey mississauga.

i was on a conference call with some traveling companies and agents associated with our company. this suicide bomb attack came up in our discussion as people were inquisitive if they should be recommending western tourists to travel to middle east and other muslim countries. noting that i was on line. they inquired my opinion. i said i have been to islamabad twice and it is the safest place in pakistan. i referred them to many of my articles in the internal newsletter to them showing that many people have begun to travel to pakistan again. i expressed my anger and doubts on why could this be happening. a turkish friends of ours came up with something that could be eye opener for all of us.

pakistan has declared 2007 as its tourism year. thanx to people like Orakzai, pakistan has also attempted to stabilize things in the tribal areas by negotiating many peaceful agreements. pakistan is also getting more and more arabian investment in pakistan and this is certain to be followed by malaysian investment. however, nato is again knocking on our doors. they are not satisfied with our peace with tribals. a rocket attack comes on pakistani military post and then this suicide attack. it seems that someone is sending a message that we will not let world know pakistan as a country having security and stability and therefore safe for foreign investment.

these are not my views, just came up during a conference call.

on another note, i am pleasantly surprised as how many tourists actually want to visit nwfp. these are mostly japanese interested in visiting swat and other regions where they believe buddism once flourished.

regardz,

mrs. farah khan khattak.
