I think the first ever Pukhto movie was "Da meene zoye" of Lala Sudher. But I think there is no copy available of this movie. Therefore we can safely consider "Yousaf Khan Sherbano" as first Pukhto movie.

I myself haven't enough informations but when I was too young, I was hearing that a movies was made and Pakhtuns protested on it as a Pakhtun lady was shown in bad manner in this film.

Later on, Mr. Zarien, one of my senior in politics was telling me how they blocked the show on most of cenimas in Karachi but I did not ask if it was an Urdu movie or Pashto?

But I was hearing ALi Haidar Joshie in the start of Yousaf Khan Sherbano saying that" Osa porey ba mo pradee filamoona kata, os ba khapla filamoona gorai" something like that shows that Yousaf Khan Sherbano was the first formal Pashto film.

Ajab Khan Afridai
A true story on the proud of all Afridis and the proud of all Pukhtuns “Ajab Khan Afridi”. The character chosen for the role of Ajab Khan was Asif Khan. He did a wonderful job. Ajab Khan who was basically a soldier in British Army (FC) he was ordered to be arrested on the basis of a baseless accusation of steeling a three-not-three rifle. Ajab managed to escape and started attacking British forces. British forces entered Ajab Khan’s house, disgraced his mother, arrested his uncle and cousin and took all the weapons from his home. It was obviously unbearable for a true Pukhtun like Ajab Khan, he sent a letter to British DC (Kohat) to release his cousin and uncle and return all the weapons otherwise he would pick a “Maam” from the Garrison on a particular date. Since he (Ajab Khan) has mentioned the day and date therefore all the British forces were on high alert but still Ajab Khan managed to pick the daughter of Major Allis. A young and beautiful lady was in the custody of Ajab Khan for many days but following the true traditions of Pukhtunwali, he (Ajab Khan) ensured that the lady is kept with full respect and honour. When finally British High Commissioner and DC cave in to the demands of Ajab Khan, he returned the lady with full respect. British DC was astonished when he came to know that the lady was still a virgin. So much so that the lady was reluctant to leave her Pukhtuns brothers and sisters.

Deedan
An excellent movie. The movie is based on the story of blind man with the only hope to see his beloved. Besides being a good story, the standard of acting has improved significantly. Due to Amir Ghulam Sadiq, the music was simply excellent; all eleven songs are worth praising.

It is one of the best movies I have seen, It is a war movie, where Puktun fighters give a
tough time to British forces which finally result into their total humiliation.
It is a serious movies but the comedy is not upto the mark, understandably, without Liqat Major (Santees Calendar) the standard of comedy cant be upto the mark. Though Liaqat Major was in this movie but he acted as a British Officer, probably it was his first movie.

Google has unlimited capacity for uploading but somehow it didnt work with my songs/movie.
Zahid may help me in one more area. If he can kindly tell me how to change the format of these movies and songs. Because presently I have CDs and you know the print is not that good. With the help of VCD Cutter, I can change the format from dat to mpeg but it cant improve the print.

As the name indicates, it could be turned into a very good movie but somehow the writer and director (Sanober Khan) preferred public demand instead of making a classical movie. Overall, I didnt like the movie, there is some glamour and objectionable scenes. The music is also not upto the mark.
