How to wtite Pashto in KHYBERWATCH

Tips for writing Pashto in Khyberwatch & the whole computer while using Win Xp or newer versions like Win VISTA etc.

First of all go to Start Menu & select Control Panel from here as shown in the picture#1
Then select Regional & Language options in control panel as shown in picture#2.
in regional & languages options u have select the second tab named as Languages in in this tab select install files for complex script & left to right languages(including Thai), as shown in picture#3,Be sure to insert win XP's Cd in ur Cd rom as these files will be installed for CD of ur windows. after installinf these files click on the Details in this tab. from where u have to select ADD in order to add new language as shown in picture#4.

:partytimesign: while selecting languages u can select any language that starts from left to right in Input Language. i-e URDU,FARSI,PUNJABI,ARABIC etc. as shown in picture#5
but be-sure to select PASHTO PHONETIC 2 in KEYBOARD LAYOUT/IME tab. as shown in picture#6. then click OK,
Congratulations! u have installed ur language for writing pashto in KHYBERWATCH, not only KW but u can write pashto in whole computer.MS WORD etc.
Be sure to select ur language from task bar as shown in picture#7
or u can simply select it by pressing LEFT ALT+SHIPT.
go to khyberwatch & select there PASHTO KROR ASIATYPE font & write.
or go to www.groups.yahoo.com/group/pukhtosoft (http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/pukhtosoft) & download Pashto font of Asiasoft by DW-Germany

NOTE:u have to download PASHTO PHONETIC 2 from above group or search it in www.google.com.pk (http://www.google.com.pk)
download it & install, because it is very necessary for writing in PHONETIC STYLE as A for الف
b for ب
etc.

I really disapointed with the Liwal's Pashto soft as they are dominating your whole computer and change your system in to the Arabic style.

They don't have such rights as they are charging too much for that software which was PRs 1500 for individual use many years ago.

I personally prefer that tol Afghan's free software which is available at http://www.tolafghan.com/belabel/tech or that of Khpala Pashtu software http://khpalapashtu.com/sitee/downld.htm/. Both these are user friendly and the instructions are provided with the software in aminated picture.

So I am going to remove the attachments as I did not find it usful in this purpose.

Zahid Lala! u r right that asiasoft's program is expensive but it is the authentic one too, I have bought at the cost of 5000 in january2000 but it is nowadays on 1000-1500 but the programs u mentioned above r not in phonetic style & new users faces many problems while using it.

by installing toll afghan or khpala pashto's softwares one cannot write directly,
he will go through the processes as I have mentioned.
u have talked about changes of whole system according to Arabic style so there r two options for LIWAL's software.
it needs arabic versuion of win98 or xp
by installing Arabic enabled versions there r two options
(1) installing windows in Arabic
(2) installing windows with Arabic support means Arabic enabled.
u might have installed with option # 1 but u have to install it with option#2

Look! Asiasoft ask in the begning to change your setting into Arabic. It means all the numrical values etc will be desplayed in that format.

Pashto Ponetic is a different thing. For example, you downloaded the old key board from TolAfghan.com, you will find its tutorial with it which shows in details how to manage this software after installing it.

If you are interested in ponetic keyboard, then just install that keyboard either from google search or directly from pashotsoft or dastar international websites and start using it. If you install just a phonetic keyboard, it doesn't mean that you will be able start writing in Pashto unless your language setting is extended into right handed keyboard with "Afghan" or "Pashto" IME setting and this is not possible without the above said softwares of TolAfghan or Khpalapashto.

We should also keep in mind that the above two are free for Pakhtuns and Pakhtun social organisations whereas Liwal can sue you anytime as their terms of use are so limited.

So what I mean, install the old keyboard from TolAfghan, install the phonetic keybard and use your computer with no major changes like Liwal's Asia soft which even change your desktop's wall paper.

Personally, My fingures are use to with the Arabic keyboard, so I did not find it difficult, but I also installed phonetic to many people and they are happy with that.

Furthermore, Asiasoft fonts are also problematic. They are giving same fonts on different names to each subscribers like;

Pashto Kror Asiatype to BBC
pashto Kror {Asiatype} to general users on CD
Krora to Pakhtoon Magazine and others.

I found that BBC's type fonts, TolAfghan's Pokhto fonts and that Tahoma which is built in to the windows are most friendly to everywhere and noone will face any problem.

Daurangir jana wror me..in my version we need only 21 base alphabets..we can derive the others easily from them...they are a mixture of plagiarism of the cyrillic and roman alphabets and 7 are my own...but they are also inspired by roman things..:icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:

Windows Vista dosn't require any keyboard support.
while installing winVista u can support ''Keyboard Language'' as Pukhto Afghanistan
or after installation go to Regional & Languages setting & select new language Pashto Afghanistan
All the fonts work as pashto but if someone installs pashto specific fonts,it is more better.
